Global Exploration Program

Global Exploration Program

All students enroll in this program for all three years of high school education.

1st year high school students Global Basics: Studying Issues in the Community
  • ・Conduct studies on community issues using one unit of comprehensive study time, one unit of global information time, and one unit of CTP (Critical Thinking Program) time.
  • ・A team of five students identifies issues in an area of interest and conducts fieldwork. Each team includes at least one exchange student or a student with exchange experience to collaborate in the fieldwork.
2nd year high school students Global Applications: Studying Other Cultures
  • ・Conduct studies on other cultures as an extension of the study into community issues conducted as 1st year students using one unit of comprehensive study time and one unit of global information time.
  • ・In addition to compulsory studies on Taiwan, students pursue an elective called “My Other Country,” in which they gather information on a foreign country from exchange students, embassies, and other sources.
3rd year high school students Global Involvement: Finding a Career Path
  • ・Prepare a report summarizing studies performed as 1st and 2nd year students using one unit of comprehensive study time.
  • ・In preparation for college, each student prepares a report called “My Learning Plan”, which outlines the student’s goals for the future and a career path that leads the student to the goals. Each student will also prepare a similar report in English called “My Shinka Declaration”.
